Troubleshooting >

  • Overheating/Discolored Core >

Cause    Recommendation
* Inadequate water cooling. * Adjust water flow.
* Dry cutting with excessive pressure. * Consider blade cooling when dry cutting.
* Blade slippage on arbor. * Check arbor shaft, flange arbor hole damage.
  • Tension loss/Blade wobble >

Cause    Recommendation
* Machine problem or misalignment. * Check saw for proper condition and alignment.
* Improperly seated blade. * Remount the blade.
* Core has been overheated. * Correct overheating condition.
* Improper RPM. * Use an appropriate RPM for blade.
  • Undercutting >

Cause    Recommendation
* Wear of the core at segment caused * Use a blade with undercut protection.
by abrasive fines from the cut. * Increase water flow.
  • Loss of Segment >

Cause    Recommendation
* Overheating. * Correct problem causing overheating.
* Twisted or jammed in cut resulting * Hold material more securely.
from material or machine movement. * Use an appropriate blade for material.
* Undercutting of core. * Check blade, shaft and flange
* Blade hammering in cut due to out-of    reinstall if appropriate.
   round or too hard bond.
* Blade wobble from loss of tension
   or improper mounting.
  • Damaged Arbor Hole >

Cause    Recommendation
* Blade was improperly seated or * Check arbor and blade, reinstall correctly.
inadequately tightened flange. * Correct the machine problem.
* Worn or damaged arbor shaft or flange.
  • Excessive Wear >

Cause    Recommendation
* Blade not correct for material cut. * Use a blade with a harder bond.
* Insufficient water. * Adjust water flow.
  • Uneven Wear >
Cause    Recommendation
* Saw misalignment. * Correct machine problem.
* Uneven water distribution. * Adjust for even distribution of water.
* Core is warped. * Blade may need to be re-tensioned or replaced.
  • Blade Stops Cutting >
Cause    Recommendation
* Blade too hard for material cut. * Use a blade with a softer bond.
* Blade had been dulled due to use on  * Redress the blade.
too hard material. * Use correct RPM and pressure
* Inadequate pressure or excessive RPM.    to keep blade sharp.
  • Cracks in Segments >
Cause    Recommendation
* Blade too hard for material cut. * Use a blade with a softer bond.
* Cutting speed too fast. * Reduce speed of advance.
  • Cracks in Core >
Cause    Recommendation
* Blade is too hard for material cut. * Use a blade with a softer bond.
* Machine problem or misalignment. * Verify machine condition and correct problems.
* Cutting pressure too high  * Use even pressure for smooth steady advance.
* Overheating. * Check for adequate cooling.
